Crabtree Creek had a variety of site challenges: multiple endangered species, high organic debris flow, wider operation range, and minimal elevation gradient.

With the replacement of an old rotary drum screen and the installation of a custom-designed Farmers Screen, 13.5 miles of river is now open for safe fish passage. The Farmers Screen has also reduced maintenance costs and optimized hydroelectric revenue for the Lacomb Irrigation District.
