About
The point of diversion is remote and inaccessible during portions of the winter months, making low maintenance operation a must at this location.
In October of 2010, FCA replaced an in-stream flat plate screen with a five section modular Farmers Screen with a maximum flow capacity of 16 CFS.
The new screen system consists of:
New headgate
Entrance flume
5 section modular Farmers Screen
Screened water plenum (connects to conveyance pipe)
Return water plenum (connects to fish return pipe)
Drain curtain to manage ground water flows
Small footprint for the install made working conditions pretty tight during install.
Experienced contractor and modular screen design made for a smooth install.
The installation process took only a few days.
Crews working during the install.
Clean site one week after install.
Source creek sits parallel to screen.
Deadpoint Creek carries heavy loads of leaves from deciduous trees, the Farmers Screen screens this effectively with no moving parts.
