How FCA Partners with Engineers and Consultants
FCA’s goal is to provide the Farmers Screen to engineering firms and consultants as a solution, especially for diversions with high organic debris loads, high gradient, and/or high sediment loads. The Farmers Screen is a fish and debris screening solution available in two formats: custom and modular designs.
Custom Farmers Screens are specifically designed and built for a particular site and are located in a structure (typically concrete) that is designed by civil and structural engineers. Custom screens are appropriate for large diversions, power plant and municipal water intakes, and hatcheries.
Modular Farmers Screens are prefabricated steel structures which require no field fabrication or concrete. The sections bolt together on site and have minimal infrastructure requirements. Modular Farmers Screens are appropriate for remote sites and smaller diversions (under 16 CFS or dual configurations up to 32 CFS).
Additionally, the Farmers Screen provides low operation and maintenance costs combined with proven fish protection. The Farmers Screen features no moving parts, no electricity or power requirement, low maintenance and the ability to handle high debris loads.
