FCA Farmers Screen Projects Overview
The Farmers Screen comes in two different formats: modular system and custom design. Both the modular system and the custom design can be configured in a dual screen design to accommodate a wide range of flows. Site conditions and flow volumes will dictate which type of Farmers Screen is used.
The modular system was developed for remote sites and smaller diversions. Modular Farmers Screens can accommodate flow ranges from 0.5 CFS to 15 CFS. The modular system is made of steel and is prefabricated, ready to be bolted together when it is delivered to the site.
For sites with larger flow volumes and with access that will allow for it, a Custom Farmers Screen is typically used. Custom Farmers Screen systems are typically housed in a concrete structure. For all custom systems, FCA partners with an engineering firm. The engineering firm will provide all engineering for the concrete civil works into which the steel components of the Farmers Screen will be installed.
