Fish Protection: Anadromous / ESA Fish Species
The Farmers Screen was developed in the Hood River Basin in Oregon. The Hood River Basin is home to the largest variety of threatened and endangered fish species in Oregon. During the development of the Farmers Screen, biological testing was completed using Bull Trout, Chinook salmon, Coho salmon, and Steelhead. In all of the testing, the Farmers Screen met or exceeded NMFS standards for protection of anadromous species and subsequently became the first new fish screen technology to be included in the NMFS design criteria document since the document was created.
