The Farmers Screen serves as both a fish screen and a course filter for municipal or drinking water sources that are diverted from surface water.  Any course debris or sediment (along with any fish) is excluded from the screened water and returned back to the source river or stream.  Operation and maintenance requirements are very low and can provide significant cost savings over the life of the screen.
