We’ve Been Busy

It’s been a while since we posted news on our blog. We’ve been busy building a new Irrigation Modernization program. The Irrigation Modernization program is connecting irrigation districts and farmers with the tools they need to invest in modern irrigation infrastructure. The pilot is now underway with 13 irrigation districts in the state of Oregon.

Take a closer look at what its’ about at http://irrigationmodernization.fcasolutions.org.

We’ll be posting program updates, so come back often!

Our friend Suzanne Huhta’s great work featured in Dubois Anglers video

Here is a cool video featuring One Fish Engineering’s great work on Holmes Ditch. We love to see such great explanations of the importance of fish screens and the benefit to both fish and farms that is realized by a well-designed screen, well suited to the diversion’s site conditions.

Bravo to Suzanne, her project partners, and her clients! Bravo also to the Dubois Anglers & Wildlife Group (D.A.W.G.S) for their work promoting this project’s impact on fish. More from D.A.W.G.S. at dawgsonline.org.

Your generous donation supports FCA’s efforts in providing a rare “win-win” for fish and farms.  Each $1,000 philanthropic share purchased has the estimated impact of opening 1.4 river miles for safe fish passage, enabling the generation of .06 MW of green, fish-friendly hydropower, and saving farmers $2,645 each year in avoided operation and maintenance costs for their diversions. Each $25,000 unit supports FCA in the installation of 5 Farmers Screens, opening 36 river miles for safe fish passage, saving landowners $66,125 annually, and catalyzing the production of 1.5 MW of green, fish-friendly hydro. Thank you!
